Information about Grand Prix Finale: Berlin 2013

Berlin hosts the last Grand Prix stage of the year, called “Berlin Masters” . Seventeen countries will attend.  Rhythmic gymnastics stars will be here, including the whole Russian individual team: Margarita Mamun, Maria Titova, Alexandra Merkulova and hoop European Champion, Darya Svatkovskaya.

The most elegant and charming gymnast will receive the award “Miss Tournament”

In addition, the most elegant, charming and talented gymnast will receive the award called “Miss Tournament”. Olga Kapranova, Alina Kabaeva, Yeon Jae Son and Daria Kondakova won this prize years ago.

Where will it be?

It will be in Berlin (Germany) at Max  Schemeling  Hall.

When will it be?

It will be from 19th to 20th October.

Information about Aeon Cup 2013

Aeon Cup is a Rhythmic Gymnastics Club Competition. The top R.G. Clubs from last year are invited: Dinamo from Belarus, Gazprom from Russia, Neftchi (Azerbaijan) and Deriugina  School from Ukraine, but also other international clubs can compete aswell.

Gazprom club won last edition of Aeon Cup.

Each team competes with 12 routines: 8 senior routine (2 individual gymnast) and 4 junior routine (1 individual gymnast).

Where will it be?

it will be in Tokyo, Japan.

Competition  Venue:  “Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium”

When will it be?

It will be from 25th to 27th of October.

Gymnast of the week: Veronika Poliakova

Veronika Poliakova is a Russian junior gymnast.

Veronika was born in Irtkutsk where Oksana Kostina and Daria Dmitrieva were born

She competed both as an individual and group gymnast (Universiade Kazan 2013). She was born in Irkutsk, where many other champions like Oksana Kostina and Daria Dmitrieva (Olympic silver medalist in 2012) were born.

She trains at Dinamo Dmitrov, near Moscow. Her coach is Anna Shumilova (former coach of Daria Kondakova)

Grand Prix Brno Results

Grand Prix Brno is the first international top level competition after World Championships that were held in Kiev. Gymnasts took short vacation and came back ready for the last competitons of this season.  This Grand Prix is the last one before Grand Prix final, that will be in 2 weeks in Berlin.

Who is going to retire from gymnastics this year?

After World Championships that were held in Kiev, a few gymnasts decide to stop doing gymnastics.

Alina Maksymenko, from Ukraine, decided to become a coach. “After World Championships, I will help in Deriugina school as a coach” – said Alina.

“I will continue training, in fact I will compete until the end of the year.  After this, I am not very sure yet, but probably I may only compete in national competitions. I would also like to help little gymnasts to become rhythmic gymnastics stars”.

Silviya Miteva, from Bulgaria is another individual gymnasts, with a long career that decide stop doing this sport.

Silviya will be at Euskalgym Gala this year

Since 2003, Silviya competed for Bulgaria (World Championships Budapest 2003). She won bronze medal in Ribbon (Mie WC 2009, Montpellier WC 2011 and EC Vienna 2013).

Marinafernandez

Marina Fernández, former individual gymnasts from Spain and group gymnast (in 1st group since 2013) said she will retire. Marina didn’t attend to World Championships because of a technical decision of her coaches.
