Olympian Alejandra Quereda has been appointed today as the new National Head Coach in groups. Quereda already leads Spanish individual Team as a Head coach since 2018. The Royal Spanish Gymnastics Federation (RFEG) has been working for several months in this sports project, that will be showed up in the upcoming days.
Alejandra Quereda competed at the 2016 Rio Olympics Games in Brazil where she was member of the Spanish group that won silver medal in group-all around. The new long-term project will start with the first objective of building a competitive team for the World Championship (qualifying for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games), which will be held in the city of Valencia in 2023.
Thus, Anna Baranova, who was until now the National Head Coach for the last decade, is no longer part of the RFEG. Anna Baranova was born in Belarus and has a long career as an international coach. Nowadays she is living in Madrid, Spain.

In this period, the Spanish team has achieved among other achievements proclaiming itself Olympic Silver Champions in Rio 2016, two-time World Champions in 10 clubs (Kiev 2013 and Izmir 2014), the World bronze in the All-Around Competition of Stuttgart 2015 and 4th place at the 2012 London Olympics.
